Kat Morris
Birth Doula (DONA)
Kat Morris has been part of the birth world for as long as she can remember. With a mom who taught Bradley Method classes, she grew up thinking birth balls and plastic pelvises were normal household toys. (Spoiler: they’re not.)
She supported her first births as a teenager, but it wasn’t until having her own—an uphill, unmedicated, peanut-ball-fueled adventure—that she knew this work was her calling. Since then, Kat has trained and certified as a birth doula (DONA), childbirth educator (ACBE), and breastfeeding educator. She also completed advanced coursework in perinatal mental health, which deepened her trauma-informed approach and the way she supports parents navigating layered histories and experiences.
Kat’s biggest passion is teaching group childbirth classes. She loves the energy that comes from bringing parents together—watching couples learn not only from her, but from each other’s stories, questions, and even awkward practice contractions. Group classes remind her that no one is in this alone, and she loves creating a space where parents walk in nervous strangers and walk out laughing, connected, and confident.
In addition to teaching families, Kat loves training new doulas through Harbor Birth Institute. Supporting the next generation of birth workers feels like planting seeds—helping future doulas grow in skill, confidence, and heart so they can carry this work forward in their own communities. She especially values the honest conversations and lightbulb moments that happen when doulas-in-training realize just how powerful their presence can be.
She lives in Nashville with her nine-year-old daughter and two dogs, who are not particularly helpful when it comes to labor support.
